What a milestone! Alexia Putellas surpasses Spain co-star Jenni Hermoso to become Barcelona’s all-time leading scorer, joining Lionel Messi in that regard.

After her victory against Atletico Madrid on Sunday, Spain’s Alexia Putellas became Barcelona’s all-time leading scorer alongside Lionel Messi.

In the 51st minute, Putellas scored the game’s lone goal as Barcelona defeated Atletico Madrid to win Liga F for the sixth time in a row. With her goal against Atletico, the Spaniard became Barcelona Femeni’s all-time best scorer with 182 goals.

Jenni Hermoso, a fellow countrywoman of Putellas, previously held the record for most goals scored by Barcelona’s women’s squad. She scored 181 goals over her two stints with the team, from 2013 to 2017 and 2019 to 2022.

When it comes to goals scored by male football players, Lionel Messi has the most. In 778 appearances, the Argentine scored 672 goals for the Catalan team.
