BREAKING: Kristaps Porzingis’ Injury Status In Celtics-Magic Game

Via Washburn: “Kristaps Porzingis tells the Globe he’ll have an MRI on his left calf to tomorrow but doesn’t think the injury is too serious. Said he felt a tweak running the floor. Did not slip. #Celtics #Magic.” 

On Friday afternoon, the Boston Celtics are in Florida facing off against the Orlando Magic. 

During the game, Kristaps Porzingis got injured, and he has been ruled out for the reminder of the day. 

Porzingis finished the game with nine points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals while shooting 4/10 from the field and 1/4 from the three-point range in 22 minutes of playing time.

Porzingis came into the day with averages of 19.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.8 blocks per contest while shooting 55.3% from the field and 32.9% from the three-point range in 14 games.



The Celtics are the first seed in the Eastern Conference with a 12-3 record in their first 15 games. 

They are 7-3 over their last ten games and most recently defeated the Milwaukee Bucks by a score of 119-116. 

In 27 minutes of playing time, Porzingis had 21 points, six rebounds and one assist while shooting 9/15 from the field and 2/7 from the three-point range. 

Following the Magic, the Celtics will play their next game on Sunday evening when they host Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks in Boston. 

Porzingis is in his first season with Boston after getting traded (via the Washington Wizards) over the offseason. 

The 2018 NBA All-Star has career averages of 19.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.8 blocks per contest while shooting 45.5% from the field and 35.8% from the three-point range.
