Former Warriors Starter Joins New Team

DeMarcus Cousins has found a new basketball team. FARBOD ESNAASHARI 9 HOURS AGO

Former Golden State Warriors starter DeMarcus Cousins has joined a new basketball team.

It was revealed by Adrian Wojnarowski that DeMarcus Cousins has signed a contract with the Taiwan Beer Leopards of the T1 League. His contract lasts for 10 days over a 4-game period.

DeMarcus Cousins is a 4x NBA All-Star, 2x All-NBA Second Team, and was a member of the NBA’s All-Rookie First Team. He was easily the best center in the NBA for a long period of time before his Achilles injury. The most shocking fact about Cousins is the fact that he’s still only 33 years old. Even with the injuries, Cousins’ career averages are: 19.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.1 blocks on 46/33/74 shooting.

Cousins actually younger than Paul George, but because of the injury, people seem to treat Cousins like he’s at least 37 years old. It’s the harsh reality of a once-generational player dealing with injuries. Offensively, DeMarcus Cousins has shown that he’s still capable of being in the NBA. Unfortunately, it’s more on the defensive side that people have worries about. In addition, it’s always hard to convince a supremely talented player to take a reduced role.

Hopefully, DeMarcus Cousins can find some success in the T1 League, show that he’s still capable of performing, and find his way back into the NBA. He’s still far too young to have his NBA career be completely finished.
