Lakers News: Anthony Davis Blames LA’s Rough Recent Run On This

The Lakers have stumbled over the last few weeks.

Your 19-19 Los Angeles Lakers’ 2023-24 NBA season has been full of ups and downs throughout, making for a frustrating ride. Entering the year, the team was believed to be one of the best in the league.

They looked the part for a short time, even winning the first-ever NBA In-Season Tournament. But they have stumbled in recent weeks, leading many to question just how good they are.

Star Los Angeles big man Anthony Davis has been playing lights out, and it has helped keep them afloat. But even he knows that they can’t focus on the recent losing.

Davis isn’t concerned with how games turn out, as long as the Lakers don’t beat themselves. It has happened numerous times this year already, and the team is hoping that it doesn’t continue.

The Lakers have been uncharacteristically sloppy at times, which has caused them to drop multiple games. They have the talent to beat anyone in the league but have to show up with a strong mentality each time out.

This LA team was built on supposedly strong depth over the summer, and it has shown throughout the year. They have suffered a plethora of injuries this year already, but have been able to somewhat withstand it all.

The front office prioritized continuity over the offseason, given that the team reached the Western Conference Finals a year ago. This team has a lot of promise, but they have to get back to the basics.

They have been built from a defensive perspective, which has hampered the offensive attack. The front office will likely use the trade deadline to address this fact, just to help the team keep up with the rest of the league.

Most will agree that if they can just get into the postseason, the Lakers will be dangerous. Having a healthy LeBron James and Davis allows this Lakers team a sense of force, and they intend to use it.
