The NFL Draft is over, and the Green Bay Packers are getting ready for summer training (OTAs start on May 20th). Most of the team’s starting players on offense are back from last year, which is great news! They only lost two important players: right guard Jon Ruyan Jr. and running back Aaron Jones.
Here’s a look at the Packers’ starting offense:
Quarterback: Jordan Love is expected to sign a new contract soon, showing the team believes in him.
Running Back: The Packers brought in Josh Jacobs from the Las Vegas Raiders to replace Aaron Jones. Jacobs rushed for the most yards in the NFL last year (1,653 yards!). This could open up new possibilities for how the Packers use other running backs, like AJ Dillon and rookie MarShawn Lloyd.
Receivers: The Packers have a strong group of receivers, but no clear leader. Rookie Romeo Doubs was a key player last year with almost 700 yards and 8 touchdowns. He’s likely to be a favorite target for Love.
Tight End: Rookie tight end Luke Musgrave is expected to have a big year after injuries slowed him down last season.
Offensive Line: The Packers drafted offensive lineman Jordan Morgan in the first round. He’s versatile and can play different positions. This flexibility, along with experienced players like Elgton Jenkins, gives the Packers a strong offensive line that can adjust throughout the season.
The Packers’ offense has a mix of veterans and exciting young players. This could lead to a very successful season!
