Lakers, Pacers set to battle in NBA In-Season Tournament Championship

The championship match-up of the NBA’s inaugural In-Season Tournament is set! This Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET, the Los Angeles Lakers will face off against the Indiana Pacers at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The winner will receive the NBA Cup and a $500,000 prize for every player on the roster.

The Lakers advanced to the championship by blowing out the New Orleans Pelicans, 133-89, on Thursday night. LeBron James finished with 30 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, 4 threes and 0 turnovers on 75.0/100/100 shooting splits. Anthony Davis (16 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals) and Austin Reaves (17 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 threes) also stepped up for Los Angeles.

The Pacers beat the Milwaukee Bucks, 128-119, behind another monster performance from Tyrese Haliburton. The superstar point guard finished with 27 points, 15 assists, 7 rebounds, 3 threes and 0 turnovers, while Myles Turner chipped in 26 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists and 2 threes.



The Lakers currently have the fourth-best record (14-9) in the Western Conference. L.A. boasts the NBA’s ninth-best defense (allowing 108.8 points per 100 possessions) and 23rd-ranked offense (scoring 109 points per 100 possessions).

The Pacers currently have the fifth-best record (12-8) in the Eastern Conference. Indiana boasts the NBA’s top-ranked offense (scoring 119.6 points per 100 possessions), but they rank 28th on the defensive end (allowing 117.5 points per 100 possessions). 

Los Angeles and Indiana are both undefeated (6-0) in the In-Season Tournament to this point. The championship game will air on ABC and ESPN Radio starting at 8:30 p.m. ET.
