In your Los Angeles Lakers’ second straight loss (and fourth across its last six games), a 129-109 vanquishing at the hands of the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday, star LA center Anthony Davis was a standout.

He chipped in 20 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the floor (0-of-2 from deep) and 6-of-8 shooting from the charity stripe, pulled down 10 rebounds, blocked five shots, and dished out three dimes. It marked his 27th double-double of the season.

After the game, he reflected on the defeat forlornly with gathered reporters, noting that his own success rang a bit hollow despite his team’s.

“Anytime you lose, whether I play well or poorly, it always bothers me,” Davis said. “You always think about, especially me, I missed two big free throws and we lose the game by two… You look back and think about what you could’ve done better.”
